Great sound projection project where you can only hear music while standing within a certain area. I would love to make something like this.

    Reflection - Ethan Rose

Reflection matches a series of electro-mechanical bells with a set of distinct, corresponding speakers. Each speaker plays back a reversed recording of a bell, and at the exact moment that the recording ends, the actual bell strikes.

Reflection by Ethan Rose — Kickstarter

Reflection matches a series of electro-mechanical bells with a set of distinct, corresponding speakers.  Each speaker plays back a reversed recording of a bell, and at the exact moment that the recording ends, the actual bell strikes.  This temporal manipulation seamlessly shifts the objects’ sound between its material presence and its altered reproduction, resulting in a dialogue of apparent transformation.

Andrew Bird and Ian Schneller’s Sonic Arboretum (MCA Chicago)

A collection of horned speakers, made from compressed recycled newsprint and dryer lint, created by sculptor and instrument-maker Ian Schneller and composer/violinist Andrew Bird, are installed in the MCA’s atrium to create a unique sound garden. Bird records the initial compositions on-site at the MCA and sends musical information to different groups of horns via multiple loops.

    Audio Palimpsest by Anis Haron
An interactive sound installation made with a “reconfigured cassette recorder”. When visitors come near the installation it starts recording ambient sounds, and playing them back at the same time.
